This Privacy Policy explains how LifeVibe (lifevibe.life), operated by Jonah as a personal writing site, collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you visit the website or contact us. We are committed to handling information responsibly and in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (PDPA), as amended and supplemented from time to time.

1. Who we are

LifeVibe is a personal blog and contact site. The data controller for personal data processed through this website is Jonah, reachable at [email protected] or Blk 36 Beo Crescent, #02-18, Singapore 160036. LifeVibe is not a commercial platform, marketplace, or news organisation. We do not sell personal data and we do not operate large-scale analytics or advertising networks.

2. What personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect the following categories of personal data:

Contact form data. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. You must tick the PDPA consent checkbox before submission. We do not collect payment information because we do not process payments on this site.

Technical and usage data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically log standard server data such as IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. We treat this data as operational information required to deliver the site securely and diagnose errors. We do not use this data to build individual profiles.

Cookie and preference data. If you interact with the cookie banner, we store your consent choices in a browser cookie named lifevibe_consent for up to six months. This cookie may contain boolean flags for categories such as analytics, preferences, and marketing. Essential cookies required for basic site operation and consent storage are always active.

3. How we collect personal data

We collect personal data in three main ways: directly from you when you complete the contact form; automatically through server logs generated when you request pages or assets; and through cookies set in your browser when you accept, reject, or customise cookie preferences. We do not collect personal data from third-party data brokers, and we do not purchase mailing lists.

4. Purposes of collection, use, and disclosure

We collect and use personal data only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances, including:

Responding to messages you send via the contact form; maintaining the security and integrity of the website; complying with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities; remembering your cookie consent choices; and improving site reliability based on aggregated, non-identifying server statistics.

We may disclose personal data to service providers who assist us in operating the website, such as web hosting providers and email delivery services, provided they are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations consistent with the PDPA. We may also disclose data where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of LifeVibe, our visitors, or others.

5. Legal basis and consent

Under the PDPA, organisations must obtain consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal data unless an exception applies. For contact form submissions, we rely on your explicit consent indicated by ticking the consent checkbox. For essential site operation and security logging, we rely on legitimate purposes related to operating a public website. You may withdraw consent for optional processing at any time by clearing cookies, adjusting cookie preferences via the banner where available, or contacting us directly. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

LifeVibe uses a small number of cookies. The consent cookie stores your choices for six months. If you click Accept, optional categories you have enabled may be stored as true in the consent record. If you click Reject, optional categories are stored as false. Customise allows granular selection before saving.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. Blocking essential cookies may affect consent memory and require the banner to appear again. We do not currently deploy third-party advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request fresh consent where required.

7. Retention

We retain contact form messages for as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence, typically not longer than twenty-four months unless a longer period is required for legal, dispute, or security reasons. Server logs are retained according to our hosting provider’s rotation schedule, generally between thirty and ninety days. Cookie consent records expire automatically after six months unless renewed by a new choice.

8. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks. These measures include HTTPS where supported by hosting, access limitation to mailboxes, and form protections such as honeypot fields to reduce automated spam. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cross-border transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data on servers located outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred overseas, we take steps to ensure recipients provide a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA, such as contractual clauses or provider certifications, to the extent applicable and available.

10. Your rights under the PDPA

Subject to exceptions under the PDPA, you have the right to request access to personal data about you that is in our possession or under our control, and to request correction of any error or omission. You may also withdraw consent for optional processing as described above. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] with sufficient detail for us to verify your request. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with PDPA timelines.

11. Third-party links

LifeVibe may link to external sites such as Google Fonts for typography delivery. Those sites have their own privacy policies and practices. We do not control third-party services and encourage you to review their policies. Font requests may disclose your IP address to the font provider as part of normal web delivery.

12. Children

LifeVibe is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under thirteen without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the contact form, please contact us and we will take steps to delete the information promptly.

13. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in practice, technology, or legal requirements. The last updated date at the top of this page indicates the current version. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acknowledgement of the revised policy, except where further consent is required by law.

14. Contact and complaints

For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or complaints about how we handle personal data, contact Jonah at [email protected] or +65 6228 4568. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) in Singapore for further guidance on your options under the PDPA.
